The VG0017 Shun Kiritsuke Knife is an 8-inch knife. It has a very unique design and the handle is made of Pakkawood. I really like its look and feel. The blade appears to be stainless steel that has been given a Damascus finish [“pattern welded” (my note)].
The first thing I noticed about this knife is its size. It is listed as 8-inch but it feels like a 10-inch knife to me (and I usually carry 10″ Hunting Knives).
I dont’ know what kind of steel it’s made from but you can definitely feel that the blade is very solid and strong.
The Rosewood handle is pretty and it feels like its been attached very well. I haven’t tried to disassemble the knife, but the handle doesn’t feel like it will come apart any time soon.
